MAPS Alumni Society Scholarship

One of the main goals of our Alumni Society is to support academic and research excellence. To accomplish this goal, the society has established a scholarship fund for Mathematical and Physical Sciences students. Once it's endowed, the scholarship will provide books, laboratory fees, academic supplies, educational travel expenses or stipends for students who have demonstrated academic excellence and/or financial need.

When the scholarship fund reaches $25,000 it will become endowed, which will allow the MAPS Alumni Society to help students in perpetuity. The College of Mathematical and Physical Sciences will match all contributions to the MAPS Alumni Society Scholarship Fund at a rate of 25 cents for every dollar raised. So by the time contributions to the fund reach $20,000, the College will have matched that with $5,000, and the fund will be endowed.

Contributions from alumni and the College and special events provide the funds to establish this scholarship and eventually to expand it to support a greater number of deserving students. To donate to this fund, simply include fund #480147 on the memo line of your gift check (made payable to The Ohio State University Foundation) or go to http://www.giveto.osu.edu/igive/index.asp. After you select "Other" on the first drop-down menu, type "MAPS Alumni Society Scholarship Fund (#480147)" in the box labeled "Indicate special instructions for your gift."
